David Wilson had been crafting signs for over 40 years when he first created a wooden sign to bring his passion for boating indoors during the winter months.
He made the base out of mahogany with carved edges and then lettered his home’s latitude and longitude with 22 karat gold leaf edged in navy blue. After experimenting with several finishes, David found that the marine varnish provided the most protection while enhancing the color of the mahogany. What began as a personal art piece for his home is now something you can hang in your own home.
